The Iowa Utilities Board yesterday (Tuesday) heard from the attorneys representing two companies which hope to build carbon dioxide pipelines, as they try to work out scheduling issues for their permit requests. One of those pipelines, the Navigator Heartland, would run through area counties, including Buena Vista.
Navigator Attorney Samantha Norris details that the plan is to begin in the first half of 2024, if it’s approved. Wolf Carbon Solutions is also proposing a pipeline. Summit Carbon Solutions is the third company proposing a pipeline, with a public hearing on that project set for October.
