Graduation rates have been released for Iowa’s high school graduating class of 2022.
According to the state’s Department of Education, 89.9 (eighty-nine-point-nine) percent of students in Iowa’s class of 2022 graduated within four years, down slightly from 90.2 (ninety-point-two) percent for the Class of 2021.
For the Storm Lake Community School District, the report shows that 51.6 (fifty-one-point-six) percent of the Storm Lake High School Class of 2022 graduated within four years. Again though, many Storm Lake High School seniors opt for a 5th year of high school in the district’s charter program. Storm Lake’s five-year graduation rate for the class of 2021 is slightly over 86-percent.
The four-year graduation percentage for the Alta Aurelia class of 2022 is 89.1 (eighty-nine-point-one) percent…Newell Fonda 86-percent…Sioux Central 94-percent…East Sac County 98.4 (ninety-eight-point-four) percent…Pocahontas Area 94.2 (ninety-four-point-two)…Ridge View 94.8 (ninety-four-point-eight)…OA-BCIG 97.3 (ninety-seven-point-three)…and 98.2 (ninety-eight-point-two) percent of South Central Calhoun’s class of 2022 graduated in four years.
Iowa’s four-year graduation rate for the class of 2022 is still six-tenths of a percent higher than a decade ago, and is higher than neighboring states including Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota. 2022 graduation rates for Minnesota and Wisconsin aren’t yet available.
