There were just a few general election contested races that involved area counties.
On the state level…For the Iowa House in the newly-drawn District 6, which includes much of Buena Vista and Clay Counties, Republican Megan Jones of Sioux Rapids easily defeated Democrat James Eliason of Storm Lake, 73-percent to 26-percent.
For the State Senate in District 6, which includes Ida County, Jason Schultz was victorious over David Davis 83-percent to 17-percent.
On the county level…for the Ida County District 3 Board of Supervisors, Republican Devlun Whiteing defeated Todd Conover 54-percent to 45-percent.
On the federal level…for the U.S. House of Representatives in Iowa’s 4th District, Randy Feenstra of Hull easily won a 2nd term with 67-percent of the votes. Ryan Melton got 30-percent, and Bryan Jack Holder got two-percent.
