Hy-Vee Stores Will be Closed on Thanksgiving for First Time in Company History

Iowa’s largest grocery store chain will be closed on Thanksgiving for the first time in its 92-year history.

Hy-Vee announced in a news release that its more than 285 retail locations will be closed for Thanksgiving Day, November 24th so their employees can enjoy the holiday with family and friends. That includes all Hy-Vee grocery stores, Wine and Spirits, Fast and Fresh, Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits, and Dollar Fresh Markets.

Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh customers will still be able to pay at the pump for fuel on Thanksgiving Day.

Customers who purchase holiday meal packs will be able to schedule a time to pick up their order in-store prior to Thanksgiving or via curbside pickup that morning. Customers can order holiday meals by contacting their local Hy-Vee store.

Hy-Vee has more than 80-thousand employees across its eight-state region.
