MOC-Floyd Valley Blanks Tornado Football Team

MOC-Floyd Valley scored touchdowns on their first five possessions building up a 35-0 halftime lead en route to a 41-0 win over Storm Lake Friday night in Orange City.

The Dutchmen had 391 yards of offense in the game with Ayden Klein leading their rushing attack with 11 carries for 115 yards and a score. Quarterback Blake Aalbers threw three touchdown passes and was 9-for-12 for 198 yards.

The Tornado offense was able to pick up a first down on the opening drive of the game but a fumble gave the Dutchmen great field position which led to their first score. Storm Lake’s second possession produced a first down when Josh Steffen connected ona 14-yard passto Brody Boeckman to give the Tornadoes the ball at their own 49 yard line. That possession quickly ended and from the point forward Storm Lake never got another first down.

The Dutchmen defense picked up several quarterback sacks in the 2nd half which led to Storm Lake having minus 31 yards rushing for the game. A trio of Tornado quarterbacks completed 2-of-7 passes for 16 yards with Boeckman having both receptions.

MOC-Floyd Valley is now 3-0 and will play next week vs. Le Mars. The Tornadoes are now 0-3 and will play at Carroll next Friday night.

Storm Lake’s first three opponents have a combined record this season of 7-2.
