Storm Lake School Board OK’s Purchase of Iowa Central Community College Building

The Storm Lake Board of Education on Wednesday approved the district’s purchase of the Iowa Central Community College building on the east side of the high school.

Iowa Central has been adding new facilities on the north side of town. Superintendent Dr. Stacey Cole said conversations about a possible transaction started a few years ago, and she’s been excited that the district was given permission to make the purchase…(audio clip below :25 )

The purchase price is 600-thousand dollars, and will be covered by federal ESSER funds.

The Storm Lake district has been using the space rent-free in the past. ICCC will remain in the building rent-free this school year, and possibly next year.
