New Executive Director Announced for Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation

The Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation has a new Executive Director.

The CAEDC board announced today (Mon) that Jana Utesch will replace Bill Anderson, who recently resigned to take a position at R.J. Thomas Manufacturing Inc. Anderson led CAEDC for nearly five years.

Utesch will assume her CEO duties later in August. She grew up on a family farm outside of Washta. Utesch graduated from Washington High School in Cherokee, and went on to attend Iowa Central Community College, and then Iowa State University. Utesch has directed The Gardens Assisted Living in Cherokee for the last 14 years.

A gathering to welcome Jana to Cherokee Area Economic Development will be held at Mud on Main in Cherokee on Thursday, September 22nd from 4:30 to 6:30pm. The public is welcome. Refreshments and beverages will be served.
