2A District Baseball Recap From Holstein 7-2-22

A pair of first round class 2A district tournament baseball games were played at Holstein Saturday night. In the first game, Zach Hemer threw five shutout innings leading OA-BCIG to a 4-1 win over MVAOCOU. Hemer allowed three hits while striking out eleven batters. Treyton Kolar gave up one unearned one in two innings of relief.

Each team had five hits in the game. Kane Ladwig had two hits and two RBI for the Falcons and Kelton Ladwig drove in two runs with a base hit.

The Falcons, now 8-10, will play Cherokee in the 7pm game at Cherokee Tuesday, July 5th.

In the 2nd game of the night, West Monona plated two runs on a bunt in the 6th inning and it proved to be the difference in their 2-0 win over Ridge View.

Tracin Price pitched all seven innings and suffered the tough luck loss. He allowed five hits while striking out nine batters and walking five. The Raptors had five hits off of winning pitcher JJ Lander who struck out ten and walked only one. Price had two of the five hits for the Raptors who finish the year with a record of 12-13.

West Monona will now play Carroll-Kuemper in the 5pm game at Cherokee Tuesday, July 5th.
