State Auditor Rob Sand has released an audit report on O’Brien County.
Revenues for the county totaled 21.6-million dollars for fiscal year 2021, more than a 46-percent increase from the previous year. The significant increase in revenues is due in large part of an increase in secondary road infrastructure contributed by the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Expenses for O’Brien County operations for the 2021 fiscal year were 14.8-million dollars, up more than eight-percent from the prior year.
Auditor Sand reported two findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds. The findings address a lack of segregation of duties, and material amounts of receivables not properly recorded.
