GT-RA Defeats Alta Aurelia Softball

GT-RA emerged victorious on the Alta Aurelia softball team’s senior night with a 6-4 win this (Fri) evening.

The Warriors scored a 1st inning run as Brielle Engelman scored after an error was committed on a groundball hit by Alli Magnusson. GT-RA took the lead with three runs in the 3rd.

Alta Aureia regained the lead in the bottom of the 3rd on a three-run homerun by Magnusson down the left field line. The Titans answered with single runs in the 5th, 6th, and 7th. The Warriors got the tying runs into scoring position with two outs in the 7th, but a flyout ended the game.

Hailey Ebel pitched the first six innings to earn the winning. Shea Peterson pitched all seven for Alta Aurelia and had three strikeouts. GT-RA had 11 hits to the Warriors nine. Engelman, Nora Peterson, and Addy Fritz each had two hits for the Warriors.

Seniors Magnusson, Jenna Nielsen, and Angela Lopez and their parents were recognized before the game.

GT-RA is now 17-6, while Alta Aurelia sits at 9-12. Alta Aurelia is scheduled to host a tournament tomorrow (Sat) weather permitting. They’ll start the day playing River Valley at 9am, followed by Storm Lake vs Ridge View at 11am, and then the consolation and championship games.
