No Motion Made by City Council to Support Tax Incentive Program for Housing Project

A resolution to support a workforce housing tax incentive program for a housing construction project in the Woodland Creek subdivision failed due to a lack of a motion for approval at this week’s Storm Lake City Council meeting.

The agenda item was tabled at the previous council meeting because the language needed to be revised to state that 11 homes would be constructed. City manager Keri Navratil said the project by Jim Johnson and Healthy Efficient Homes will be a combination of single family and twin homes…(audio clip below :09 )

Council member Kevin McKinney expressed concern about the lack of specifics in the proposal…(audio clip below :31 )

The total capital investment of the project is expected to be 2.9-million dollars.
