The Fields and Gardens contest will once again be part of the Clay County Fair.
Contests being offered by the Fields and Gardens Department include the Largest Pumpkin Contest, and Best Corn Contest. There are fruit categories including apples, plums, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and watermelons. There are also categories focused on people’s creative skills through the garden scarecrow and yard people contest.
Entries are open to anyone from any county or state. Check out the exhibitor handbook at www.claycountyfair.com, or pick one up at the Fair Administrative Offices.
Pre-registration for all exhibits is encouraged by August 22nd, and can be done online, by mail, or in-person. Registrations will also be accepted at the Field and Gardens Building on Wednesday, September 7th from 5 to 8pm, and Thursday, September 8th from 9am to 5pm. Judging is scheduled for Friday, September 9th.
The Clay County Fair runs from September 10th through the 18th.
