BV County Absentee Primary Voters Have Topped 200

Several thousand Iowans have cast absentee ballots for today’s (Tues) Primary Election.

According to information sent by the Buena Vista County Auditor’s office this (Tues) morning, there have been 224 absentee voters in BV County, and 219 of those ballots had been returned. The five outstanding ballots need to be returned by 8pm this evening to be counted.

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate says there have been about 65-thousand early voters statewide for the primaries.

Two years ago, Iowa set an all-time primary election participation record of nearly a half-million. In 2020, many voters opted to cast absentee ballots rather than vote in person due to the pandemic.
