A recent Sioux Central graduate has been hired as a summer intern at the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation.

Anna Makarenko was involved in both individual and large group speech at Sioux Central, as well as elite honor roll, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, track and field, and also mentored and tutored younger students.

Makarenko plans to double major in economics and finance at the University of Iowa beginning in August. She started her internship at the Iowa Lakes Corridor today (Tues).

“I am very excited to be a part of the Iowa Lakes Corridor team this summer,” said Makarenko. “This internship gives me an opportunity to learn more about economics, work with professionals, and build a stronger network. With gratitude, I am looking forward to gaining knowledge and experience in both the economics and finance fields before I further my education at University of Iowa this fall.”

“We are excited to work with Anna at the Corridor this summer,” shared Corridor President & CEO Shannon Landauer. “Anna’s educational goals at the University of Iowa align with the work of the Corridor, and we hope to provide her a summer internship full of experience to help her get started in the fall.”
