Mustang Baseball Team Picks Up 1st Win In Rain Shortened Game At Storm Lake

Trey Jungers pitched five solid innings and the Newell-Fonda offense picked up nine hits and had nine stolen bases in their 5-1 win over Storm Lake Tuesday night in a game that was called in the top of the 6th inning due to rain.

Jungers allowed one unearned run on one hit while striking out five.  Edgar Barriero's two out single in the 3rd inning was the only hit allowed by the Mustang senior.

Seven different Mustangs picked up at least one hit with Mason Dicks and Max Carlson getting two each.  The Mustangs, now 1-2, will host Webster City Wednesday night.

Hunter DeMey pitched five innings for Storm Lake giving up five runs on seven hits.  The Tornadoes, now 3-2, will play Wednesday night at Pocahontas Area.  The varsity game will be broadcast on Mix 101.7 KAYL and video streamed at stormlakeradio.com starting around 7:30pm
