BVU Inaugural Livestock Show Coming in June

The Buena Vista University Institute for Agriculture is hosting its first Classic Livestock Show June 4th and 5th at the BV County Fairgrounds in Alta.

Events on Saturday, June 4th include a two-ring cattle show, with a sheep show the following day. Both shows are open to area high school and college students, and feature one-thousand dollars in prizes and payouts to the top five market and breeding livestock.

Check-in for the June 4th cattle show is 8 to 10am, with the show starting at noon. The entry fee is 35-dollars per head of cattle.

Check-in for the sheep show on June 5th is 7:30 to 9am, with the show starting at 11am. There is a 25-dollar entry fee per head of sheep. To sign up for either of the shows, contact BVU farm and ranch manager Mike Christen at 712-299-7151, or christenm@bvu.edu
