Tornado Baseball Team Drops Game To SBL

Sergeant Bluff-Luton took advantage of some Storm Lake mistakes in the field and beat the Tornadoes 7-4 Friday night at Storm Lake.  The Warriors, the 10th ranked team in class 3A, improve to 4-1 with the win.  Cole Conlan pitched the final four innings of the game to pick up the win.

The Tornadoes were held to four hits in the game with Edgar Barriero going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and he drove in two runs when he connected on his second homer of the season in the 4th inning, which at the time gave the Tornadoes a 4-2 lead.

Sam Dvergsten pitched five innings and gave up four runs, Drew Taylor pitched the sixth and suffered the loss.  Austin Gaffney pitched the 7th.

Storm Lake is now 2-1 on the year and will play six games next week starting with a home game Monday night versus LeMars Gehlan.
