Storm Lake Baseball Team Defeats Monarchs 5-18-22

Jake Eddie threw six innings striking out 12 batters and the Storm Lake baseball team beat Denison-Schleswig 6-2 Wednesday night at Storm Lake.

Eddie allowed two runs on three hits and walked three.  The Tornadoes had eight hits in the game with Aiden Phillips going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, he also had an RBI and scored twice.  Austin Gaffney also picked up two hits.

Gaffney, for the second straight game, pitched the seventh inning for the Tornadoes.  He faced four batters, hit one and struck out one.

Storm Lake is now 2-0 and will host Sergeant Bluff-Luton Friday night, the game will be broadcast on Mix 101.7 KAYL.  The Storm Lake J-V  team won 13-9.

Denison-Schleswig is now 1-1 and will host Sioux City-North on Friday.
