Iowa Drought Conditions Improving According to Latest Map

The latest drought map for Iowa shows a lot less color than it has in recent weeks.
D-N-R hydrologist, Tim Hall, says there are fewer areas of severe drought...(audio clip below :14 )
While all of Buena Vista County remains in moderate drought, there are smaller portions of moderate drought in most other surrounding counties.
Most of northwest Iowa is listed at the lowest level on the map called "abnormally dry." (audio clip below :16 )
Hall believes there's plenty of room in the soil for more water. He says the final weeks of May and the month of June will be key in building up the water bank for the rest of the year.
