Storm Lake Basketball Recap vs. Spirit Lake 1-25-22

Spirit Lake made a visit Tuesday night to Tornado Fieldhouse with the Indians girls winning 39-30 and the Storm Lake boys won 46-39.

Sam Dvergsten went 6-for-6 at the free throw line down the stretch and scored all 12 of his points in the 2nd half, Sam Slight added nine, and Titus Mulgae and Drew Taylor each scored seven.  The Tornadoes led 18-15 at the break and carried a 30-29 lead into the 4th quarter.

With the win Storm Lake is now 9-5 overall and 3-4 in the Lakes.  Spirit Lake was led by Tyler Voss' 17 points and the Indians fall to 4-12 on the year and 0-7 in the conference.

The girls game was tied at 16-16 at the half and after Storm Lake scored the first basket of the 3rd quarter to go up by two the Indians answered with a 10-0 run and went on for the win.  They were led by Taylor Schneider's 15 points and they move their record to 10-7 overall and 3-4 in the Lakes.  Storm Lake was led by Adeeya Yanga's 15 points and the Tornadoes fall to 5-12 on the year and 0-7 in the conference.

The Storm Lake teams play again Friday night at Spencer, the games will be broadcast on KAYL 101.7 and video streamed at stormlakeradio.com
