January 24, 2022 4:51pm

Storm Lake St. Mary's has been selected by the local Hy-Vee as the benefiting non-profit in the store's “Reusable Bag Program” for the month of February.

The Hy-Vee “Reusable Bag Program” is an easy way for shoppers to give back to the community and environment as part of the regular shopping routine. A different non-profit is selected to benefit from the sale of the bags each month in every Hy-Vee location. St. Mary's will receive a one-dollar donation for every $2.50 reusable red “my heart” bag purchased at the Storm Lake Hy-Vee in February.

“It’s more important than ever to help reduce single-use plastic in the environment,” said Ryan Berg, 6-12 Principal at Storm Lake St. Mary’s. “Non-profits at the local level, like us, are in need of community support. This program offers the perfect solution to multiple issues of the world today. We hope you’ll support us in February by purchasing one – or two! - Red “My Heart” Bags at our local Hy-Vee!”
