Farm Bill Meetings for Ag Producers Offered in February, Including in Cherokee

Iowa State University Extension and the USDA Farm Service Agency will hold four in-person meetings in northwest Iowa in February pertaining Farm Bill coverage selection options.

One of the meetings will be on February 16th from 1 to 3pm at the Cherokee County Extension Office. Contact the office to preregister. There is no fee to attend. The other meetings will be held in Spencer, Emmetsburg, and Sheldon. Sessions will be approximately two hours long, with time for questions.

Individuals who prefer to attend a virtual learning session can visit the Ag Decision Maker Farm Bill information and resources webpage at the ISU Extension website.

Iowa producers have until March 15th to make their annual election for Price Loss Coverage or Agricultural Risk Coverage at individual or county levels under the 2018 Farm Bill. The annual decision impacts the 2022 crop year. Similar annual decisions for the 2023 crop year will coincide with the final year of the bill.
