The number of COVID hospitalizations in Iowa continues to rise, with the number at 923 according to the latest information from the Department of Public Health.

COVID hospitalizations in the state are up by 131 from last Wednesday, and are as high as they've been since December of 2020. There are 178 COVID patients in ICU, and nearly 80-percent of them are not fully vaccinated.

COVID related deaths in Iowa is now over 82-hundred. Another COVID death has been added in Buena Vista County, bringing the county's total to 50.

There have been over 200 positive COVID tests in the last week in BV County. More than a quarter of the tests given in BV County over the last week have turned out positive. The 14-day test positivity rate statewide has spiked to 21-point-two percent, with more than 31-thousand new infections confirmed in the past week.

Nearly 82-percent of Buena Vista County adults are fully vaccinated. The number of adults fully vaccinated statewide is just under 71-percent.
