The Estherville-Lincoln Central girls basketball team, ranked 4th in class 3A, defeated Storm Lake 64-12 and the Midget boys team then finished off a sweep with a 51-48 victory.

In the girls game the Midgets built a 41-8 lead at the half and made the first basket of the 3rd quarter to make it a continuous clock.  Kaitlyn Tendal led three players in double figures with 21 points.  The Tornadoes were led by Adeeya Yanga's six points.

E-L-C is now 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.  Storm Lake is now 3-8 on the year and 0-4 in the league.

The Storm Lake boys led by as many as 15 points in the first half of their game and carried a 31-20 lead into halftime.  The Midgets however outscored Storm Lake 18-8 in the 3rd quarter and then hit a 3-pointer to start the 4th quarter to take their first lead of the game at 41-39, a lead they would never give up.  E-L-C led 46-39 with five mintues to play only to have Storm Lake go on a 7-1 run to pull within 47-46 with 3:30 to go.  The Midgets did just enough down the stretch to get a big road win bumping their overall record to 8-2, and now 3-1 in the Lakes Conference.  They were led in scoring by Owen Larson's 14 points.

The Tornadoes were led by Sam Slight's 17 as they fall to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
