The first significant snowfall of the season is expected to impact the listening area at the end of the work week.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch starting early Friday morning through late Friday night for counties including Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, O'Brien, Pocahontas, and Palo Alto. Portions of northwest and north central Iowa will be affected, along with parts of southeast South Dakota and northeast Nebraska.
Total snow accumulations of four to six inches are possible, with chances for heavy snow. The snow, combined with wind gusts into the mid 20's, could make traveling very difficult. Be sure to monitor the latest forecasts for updates on the situation.
