Panthers Volleyball Season Ends With First Round Loss

The opening round of the class 1A volleyball tournament started Monday night and the Saint Mary's Panthers hosted South O'Brien with the hopes of advancing to the regional quarter-final round but the Wolverines won the match in three straight sets.  The Panthers conclude the year with a record of 12-14. 

South O'Brien will now play at MMC-RU Wednesday night.  Also in class 1A, Fort Dodge-St. Ed's beat Paton Churdan in three sets.  The Gaels will now play at 7th ranked Newell-Fonda Wednesday night in the quarter-finals.

In class 2A, HMS beat Sioux Central in five sets winning the fifth 15-9.  Lawton Bronson beat MVAOCOU in four sets and will now play at 13th ranked Ridge View Wednesday night at Schaller.

In class 3A, Unity Christian beat Pocahontas Area in three and Greene County defeated OA-BCIG in four sets.
