Corn and Soybean Harvesting Above Average

14-percent of corn in northwest Iowa was harvested for grain last week for a total of 29-percent in the area, according to the latest USDA Crop Progress Report.
Statewide, corn harvested for grain reached 30-percent, which is eight days ahead of the five-year average. Moisture content of field corn being harvested was at 19-percent.
20-percent of northwest Iowa soybeans were harvested last week, bringing the area total to 61-percent. More than half of soybeans statewide have been harvested at 56-percent, and that's nine days ahead of the five-year average.
There were six days suitable for fieldwork in northwest Iowa last week, and 5.3 days were suitable across the state.
