Ridge View Goes on 2nd Half Run ; Gets First Win

The Ridge View football team scored 25 consecutive points in the 2nd half in a 38-14 win over East Sac County in Wall Lake. 

An interception by Cade Harriman set up the 1st points of the game, as he returned the pick to East Sac's one yard line.  On 3rd and goal from the one, Harriman ran a quarterback sneak into the end zone, and Brody Deitering's point-after made it 7-0 Ridge View with 4:18 left in the 1st half. 

Late in the 1st half, a 44-yard punt return by Earnie Clayton gave the Raptors the ball at East Sac's 16 yard line with 17 seconds left in the half.  On the next play, Harriman threw a touchdown to Brady Clausen to give Ridge View a 13-0 lead at the half. 

With just over seven minutes left in the 3rd quarter, and the ball on Ridge View's four yard line, Tyler Schmitt recovered a fumble in the end zone for the Raiders, to draw East Sac within 13-7.  From that point, Ridge View went on their 25 point run. 

On the next series, Ridge View went 51 yards in four plays, capped by Harriman's 36 yard touchdown pass to Tyhler Kolpin to make the score 19-7.  After an East Sac three and out, another long Clayton punt return set the Raptors up at the East Sac 23.  Soon after, on 4th and goal from the 8, Harriman fired a touchdown to Deitering to make it 25-7. 

Ridge View's Cael Myrtue recovered a fumble on the next series, which set up a ten yard touchdown run by Harriman.  A six yard touchdown run by Deitering, followed by his PAT, accounted for the Raptors final points.  Aiden Vondrak threw a four yard touchdown to Charlie Veit late in the 4th quarter for the second Raiders score. 

Harriman accounted for five touchdowns, with 20 rushes for 124 yards.  He threw for 111 yards.  Ridge View had 377 yards of offense. 

East Sac had 200 yards for the game.  Schmitt had 82 yards rushing on 19 carries.  Vondrak passed for 102 yards. 

Ridge View is now 1-1.  The Raptors host West Monona next Friday. 

East Sac (0-2) visits OA-BCIG next Friday.
