Unemployment Rate Declines in Area Counties

Buena Vista County's unemployment rate for the month of July declined by half of a percent to 3.2-percent, according to Iowa Workforce Development.

The state unemployment rate jumped slightly in July to 4.1-percent.

Iowa's labor force grew by 64-hundred in July to over 1.6-million. The labor force participation rate in Iowa increased by three-tenths of a percent in July to 66.9.

The July unemployment rate in Calhoun County is 3.9-percent, down from 4.7-percent in June. Clay County's unemployment rate in July is 3.7-percent, down from 4.2-percent...Cherokee County is at 3.2-percent, down from 3.6...Pocahontas County is at 3.1-percent, a drop from 3.7...Sac County is three-percent, falling from 3.3...and the unemployment rate in Ida County is at 2.9-percent in July, down from 3.1-percent in June.
