Mediacom today (Wed) announced that its advanced fiber optic network was recently extended to serve three under-served Iowa communities, which includes the community of Schaller.

Residents and businesses in Schaller now have access to Mediacom's ultra-fast Xtream One-Gig Internet. Mediacom has brought a total of four new communities online since the start of this year. Along with Schaller, those communities include Cushing, Meservey, and Wesley.

By the end of this year, Mediacom is aggressively working toward activating services in six other small towns, including Pomeroy.

Mediacom is making a private investment of nearly four-million dollars to provide these ten communities with first-time access to a fiber optic network built with Gigabit technology. The State of Iowa is also contributing over 900-thousand dollars from the Empower Rural Broadband Grant Program toward the construction cost.
