OA-BCIG Topples Ridge View with Strong 2nd Half

OA-BCIG outscored Ridge View 22-0 in the 2nd half, and extended their winning streak to 26 games with a season-opening 36-13 victory over Ridge View in Holstein.  

After OA-BCIG turned the ball over on downs, Ridge View traveled 57 yards in eight plays for a touchdown.  Quarterback Cade Harriman ran one in from 25 yards on 4th and 2 to make it 6-0.  The Falcons struck back with a 65 yard touchdown pass from Beckett DeJean to Josh Peters, and OA-BCIG took a 7-6 lead.  After Easton Harms intercepted a pass to put the Falcons offense back on the field, a four-yard touchdown run by DeJean put the lead at 14-7.  Brody Deitering's 15 yard touchdown run cut the OA-BCIG lead to 14-13 at the half.  

Ridge View had the ball to begin the 2nd half, but Beau Nieman ended it with an interception.  The Falcons proceeded to go 80 yards in 12 plays.  Griffin Diersen's four yard touchdown run helped push the lead to 22-13.  In the 4th quarter on a 4th and goal from the 5 play, DeJean's touchdown pass to Peters made it 30-13.  Another 4th and 5 touchdown pass, this one a 30-yarder to Gabe Winterrowd, wrapped up the scoring.  

OA-BCIG piled up 510 yards of offense.  DeJean passed for 365 yards, and ran for 93.  Winterrowd had 11 catches for 162 yards.  

Ridge View had 360 offensive yards, but just 129 in the 2nd half.  Harriman ran for 159 yards and passed for 106.

Ridge View plays on the road next Friday against East Sac County, which will be broadcast on Mix 101.7.
