E-L-C Shuts Down Storm Lake In Season Opener

Quarterback Ryan Schiltz threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 85 including a 42 yard touchdown run on the final play of the first half leading E-L-C to a 34-0 win over Storm Lake Friday night.

E-L-C scored 14 points in the final 2:03 of the first half turning a 14-0 lead into a 28-0 advantage at the break.  Storm Lake then fumbled the 2nd half kickoff which gave the Midgets the ball at the Tornado 32 and seven plays later Zavion McMurrian ran the ball in from two yards out to complete the scoring.

E-L-C had 293 of their 346 yards of offense in the first half.  Storm Lake had 233 yards of total offense with 216 coming on the ground led by Eduardo Sanchez who carried the ball ten times for 64 yards.  David Soto ran the ball seven times for 60, and Angel Gadoy had 10 carries for 44 yards.  Quarterback Josh Steffen was 3 for 7 in the passing department for 17 yards.

Storm Lake will play again next week at OA-BCIG, the Falcons beat Ridge View 36-13 Friday night to stretch their winning streak to 26 in a row.  The game will be broadcast on 92.9FM KKIA and the video will be streamed online at stormlakeradio.com
