Warrior Baseball Team Reaches Sub-State Final With 20th Win

Saturday night at Pocahontas the Alta-Aurelia baseball team pounded out 14 hits in their 11-0 six inning win over Pocahontas Area in a class 2A district final, the win puts them in a sub-state final versus Van Meter Tuesday night at Fort Dodge.

Tate Brechwald, Cale Brechwald, and Ryan Jensen combined on a one-hitter with Cale Brechwald picking up the win as he pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing no runs on only one hit while striking out four.  

Teagan Meyer and Carson Reinert had three hits each with Reinert scoring four runs in the game.  Tate Brechwald hit his first homer of the year and Oliver Peterson went 2-for-2 with three RBI.

The Indians conclude the year with a record of 18-11 while the Warriors improve to 20-8, the win was coach Ryan Burkhart's 100th.
