Sioux Central falls to #8 North Union in region final

#8 North Union pulled away in the middle innings from Sioux Central to advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2017 after a 9-1 win 

Rebels were able to open the first inning by pushing a run across when Berkley Johannsen had a one run single to plate Kendra Casey to give the Rebels the early 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the first Taylor Krager would strand two Warriors to keep the advantage 1-0 for the Rebels. 

Both pitchers would settle in as both would put up zeros in the second to keep the score 1-0 Rebels. 

Over the third, fourth and fifth innings the Warriors would load the bases with no outs or one out. They would push four across in the third to take a 4-1 lead. RBI's were collected by Olivia Von Bank and Emily Meyer as well as a passed ball and a wild pitch scored runs. The Rebels would be struck out five times across the third and fourth innings. 

The Fourth again saw the Warriors load the bases with no outs. Agian, they would have a big inning scoring three runs highlighted by a Vanesssa Von Bank 2 run double. The Warriors lead 7-1 after four innings. The Warriors tacked on two more in the fifth off of a Olivia Von Bank 2 run single to extend the Warriors lead to 9-1. 

Across the final two innings the Rebels would strand one baserunner as they fell 9-1 to the Warriors. 

Rebels wrap up the season at 21-7, #8 North Union improves to 29-4 and advances to the Class 2A state tournament for the first time since 2017
