Storm Lake knocked off Spencer 7-1 to stay unbeaten in Lakes Conference play

The first inning saw the Tigers stirke first as Hunter DeMey would record the first two outs of the inning. After that the Tigers got a two out hit from Devin Dirkx, and a walk by Cooper Griffin. The Tigers would push a run across on the Logan Huckfelt single. The Tornadoes would answer in a big way in the bottom half of the inning scoring 5 runs. The first two Tornadoes would be retired in order. After that Tornadoes would see three hits, 2 walks and 2 Spencer errors that would help them score five runs.

The second innings saw DeMey sit the Tigers down in order. The Tornadoes would add to their lead when Ben Raveling would come around on a Pako Gonzalez single to give the Tornadoes the 6-1 lead after two.

The third inning saw both sides get runners into scoring position but neither side could capitalize which would keep the score at 6-1.

The fourth inning would again see DeMey sit the Tigers down in order. The Tigers pitcher Kade Muilenburg would also retire the side in order.

From there DeMey would throw his final inning of work in the fifth. The Tornadoes would score once more in the bottom of the fifth when Hunter DeMey came around to score. Mark Eddie came into the game in the sixth and seventh innings, striking out 3 of the 7 batters he faced, as the Tornadoes won 7-1.

The Wells Ag Supply of Fonda player of the game was Hunter DeMey. His final numbers included: 2/3 from the plate with 2 singles, an RBI and a run as well as throwing 5 innings with 6 strikeouts, 2 walks, 4 hits given up and one earned run given up.

Up next for the Tornadoes (14-4) they will travel to Hull to take on Western Christian Monday night, a game that will be broadcast on Mix 101.7 KAYL
