COVID Activity Still Low in Buena Vista County
June 09, 2021 11:30am
Buena Vista County continues to have a low amount of COVID activity, as there have only been three positive tests in the last week, according to Public Health Administrator Julie Sather.
There have been over 15-thousand 300 vaccine doses administered to BV County residents. More than 86-hundred 60 county residents are fully vaccinated, or over 44-percent.
Vaccine is available locally through Public Health, Hy-Vee, and Wal-Mart. BV Public Health has Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson doses.
SALUD has been working with Hy-Vee to vaccinate various ethnic groups in BV County.
For students to be fully vaccinated when they return to school in the fall, they need to initiate their Pfizer series by July 16th. Pfizer requires a second dose three weeks after the initial shot.
