East Sac Softball Still Undefeated After Win at OA-BCIG

The East Sac County softball team scored 13 runs over the 4th and 5th innings win their 16-3 five-inning win Thursday over OA-BCIG in Battle Creek.  

The Raiders jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning, but OA-BCIG got one back in the bottom half.  The Falcons added another run in the 3rd to close the gap to 3-2.  East Sac started to pour it on in the 4th by scoring six runs, as they sent 11 batters to the plate.  East Sac had 12 batters come up in the 5th when they put seven more runs on the board.  

East Sac had ten hits in the game.  Mary Bontrager had three hits and three runs scored, and Meredith Brown had two doubles and three RBI's.  Every Raiders batter reached base at least once.  

Elle Schroeder had two RBI's for the Falcons, and Alexis Ulrich also drove in a run. 

Winning pitcher Shelby Geery threw a four-hitter with a pair of strikeouts.  

East Sac County is now 4-0, and will host Alta Aurelia on Friday.  

OA-BCIG (0-6) hosts Kingsley Pierson on Friday.
