Loring Hospital Among Top Critical Access Hospitals in U.S.

May 13, 2021 10:27am

Loring Hospital in Sac City has been named one of the top 20 critical access hospitals in the United States for best practices in quality.

Loring was the only hospital in Iowa to be recognized in the critical access category.

The top 20 critical access hospitals were determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, and were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association.

“The unwavering commitment of our team members has without a doubt contributed to Loring Hospital achieving this designation,” said Stacy Johnson, chief executive officer and chief financial officer at Loring Hospital. “We are proud to be recognized for our daily commitment to providing quality care to residents of Sac County and beyond.”

The top 20 critical access hospitals have achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength, including...inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and financial efficiency. The top 20 were selected from the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s 2021 top 100 critical access hospitals list, which was released earlier this year.

Best practice recipients have achieved success in either quality or patient perspective.

“Being the only critical access hospital in Iowa to be named as a best practice in quality recipient is a true testament to each of our employees and the top-notch, compassionate care they provide to patients each and every day,” added Johnson.

This week is National Hospital Week.
