Storm Lake Police Arrest Kansas Man for Operating While Intoxicated After Vehicle Stuck on Railroad Tracks

A Kansas man was arrested on multiple charges after Storm Lake Police Officers at around 3am Sunday located a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks at the intersection of Otsego Street and West 5th Street.

Officers allege the driver, 22-year-old Wehner Rodriguez of Manhattan, Kansas lost control of the vehicle while traveling south on Otsego Street, left the roadway, and struck the railroad track. Officers further allege that Rodriguez showed signs of alcohol intoxication. Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to the Buena Vista County Jail for further testing.

Rodriguez was ultimately charged with Operating While Intoxicated 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a class D felony...and was further issued citations for Operation Without a Valid Driver's License and Failure to Maintain Control, both simple misdemeanors. Rodriguez was booked and held on a five-thousand dollar bond.

Damage to Rodriguez's vehicle was estimated at one-thousand dollars. No damage was found to the railroad tracks owned by Canadian National Railway.
