Storm Lake Boys Soccer defeats Spirit Lake 3-1

The newly ranked #3 in Class 2A Storm Lake Tornadoes defeated Lakes Conference foe Spirit Lake 3-1 to improve to 5-0 on the season.

The scoring was started by the Indians when they struck at 32:38 with a Sam Meyer goal off of a deflection from the Storm Lake goal keeper to give Spirit Lake the 1-0 lead. The Tornadoes would strike later in the half with 15:29 to go off of the Fernando Reyes goal. That goal is the 3rd of the season for Reyes. The teams would go into the half knotted up at 1-1.

The second half saw the Tornadoes take the lead for good at 34:25 with an Alejandro Zuniga. That goal is the 5th of the season for Zuniga. The Tornado lead would be pushed to 3-1 after the goal by Brian Munoz with 8:40 to go in the match. The goal is Munoz 5th goal of the season. The final score of the match was the Tornadoes defeating the Indians 3-1. Tornadoes now 5-0, Indians fall to 1-4.

Storm Lake girls soccer picked up a 2-0 win over Spirit Lake to improve to 2-2 on the season, both goals scored by Cynthia Rodriguez. For Rodriguez those are goals #2 and #3 on the season.
