Supervisors Extend FFCRA ; Intersection Lights to be Fixed

April 07, 2021 8:51am

The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday decided to extend the Families First Cononavirus Response Act through the end of May.

The Board felt that will give county employees time to be fully vaccinated. The matter will be reviewed again toward the end of May.

The Supervisors received a request to look into getting lights functioning again at the intersection of M-44 and Highway 3, along with the intersection of Highway 71 and Business 71.

The Board was informed that the Highway 71 and Business 71 light is burned out, which will be addressed and fixed. The other intersection light will also be inspected. Engineer Bret Wilkinson said there's no issue with fixing the lights and maintaining them, but the bigger decision would come if new lights would need to be installed, as installation costs would likely be higher.
