SALUD Board Member Guest-Stars on Governor's News Conference ; Vaccine Clinic For Hispanics/Latinos in the Works

Governor Kim Reynolds used a portion of her weekly news conference this (Wed) morning to highlight efforts in Storm Lake to boost COVID vaccination rates among Latinos.

Emelia Marroquin, who is a board member of the non-profit Storm Lake based SALUD multi-cultural health coalition, said with Storm Lake being a highly diverse community, the needs for residents must be carefully considered...(audio clip below  :08 )

Marroquin said each community is different, and must be treated in ways that work for them...(audio clip below  :21 )

Marroquin said SALUD is working with Buena Vista County Public Health, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and Hy-Vee to hold a mass vaccination clinic on Sunday, April 18th in Storm Lake for the latino and hispanic population.

Marroquin said the clinic will be held at the AEA Building. The rest of the details will be determined during a meeting tonight.
