Storm Lake Annual Hydrant Flushing Starts Next Week
April 01, 2021 8:01pm
The City of Storm Lake's Annual Hydrant Flushing will be getting underway next week.
The flushing will begin on Monday, April 5th at 7am. The first zone being flushed will be an area bounded by Abner Bell Road on the west side, from Lakeshore Drive on the south, and bounded by Terrance Street on the east and to the north city limits, as well as Lake Creek.
The process will continue until all 548 hydrants are completed. If residents notice dirty or rusty looking water, they should flush their lines by running the COLD water faucet nearest the water meter for five to ten minutes. Avoid washing white clothes until water is clear.
