March 30, 2021 9:45am
Law enforcement agencies in Buena Vista County will be taking part in a “Prescription Drug Take Back Day” in late April.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office, Storm Lake Police Department, Newell Police Department, and Sioux Rapids Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will give the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Pills can be taken for disposal on Saturday, April 24th from 11am to 1pm at the Storm Lake Walmart Parking Lot...Newell City Hall...and Sioux Rapids City Hall.
Liquids, needles, or sharps will NOT be accepted. The service is free and anonymous.
For those that are unable to drop off medications at the times and locations on April 24th, they may be dropped off the week prior in the front lobby of the BV County Sheriff's Office during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
