Buena Vista sophomore guard Olivia Larsen made her name known throughout the American Rivers Conference during her first season in the league, and as a result she has been voted on by the conference coaches as the 2020-21 A-R-C Defensive Player of the Year.

During the adjusted eight-game conference schedule format this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Larsen finished third in the A-R-C in rebounding (8.3rpg) and tops in steals per game (5.8spg).  She had just one game with fewer than seven rebounds and had six games with at least five steals.  She also finishes the season as the DIII national leader in steals per contest (5.44), totaling 49 overall in just nine games.

Midway through the year, during a game at conference champion, Simpson College, Larsen scored a career-high 34 points, grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds and posted seven steals. That point total was the most points scored in a league game this season by any A-R-C player.

While averaging over 37 minutes per game this season, Larsen averaged 19.8ppg, grabbed 8.3rpg, dished out 3.8apg and tallied 5.4spg.  She becomes the program's first Defensive Player of the Year selection, and in addition to the honor, Larsen was also voted as a First Team All-Conference performer.
