Tornadoes Dunk Dutch--Move On In Tourney

The Storm Lake boys basketball team beat M-O-C Floyd Valley 66-54 in a class 3A Sub-state quarter-final game played Monday night at Tornadoe Fieldhouse.

Mark Eddie scored 11 of his team high 18 points in the 4th quarter while Luth Dak, Sam Slight, and Sam Dvergsten scored nine points each.

The Tornadoes built a 17 point lead in the first half only to have the Dutch score the last seven points of the half to close the gap to 36-26 after two quarters of play.  Storm Lake would quickly build the lead back to 17 at 45-28 with 4:50 to play in the 3rd.

The Dutch would get the deficit down to seven points on two separate occasions in the 4th quarter but that was the closest they would get.

Ayden Klein scored a game high 24 points and M-O-C Floyd Valley finishes the year with a record of 7-15.

Storm Lake is now 11-10 and will play either Carroll or Sioux Center Thursday night.  Thursday's game will be broadcast on Mix 101.7 KAYL
