A Storm Lake man has pleaded guilty to methamphetamine charges in U.S. District Court.
According to the The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 31-year-old Christian Javier Ramirez entered the plea on Tuesday to a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Ramirez admitted during his plea hearing to conspiring with others to distribute meth from early January of 2020 toward the end of that month last year. According to a criminal complaint, approximately seven pounds of methamphetamine was intercepted in Colorado by the Colorado State Patrol. Authorities say the drug was destined for Storm Lake.
Ramirez faces between ten years and life in prison, as well as a ten-thousand dollar fine, and five years of supervised release following any imprisonment. He is being held in the custody of a U.S. Marshal prior to sentencing, which is pending completion of a pre-sentence report.
