January 11, 2021 11:30am
COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived today (Mon) for many residents and staff at Arlington Place of Pocahontas.
The vaccine is given in two injections, three to four weeks apart, and will be administered by trained pharmacists from Walgreens, which is handling vaccines for hundreds of long term care residents and staff in the area.
The vaccine has been tested and approved by the FDA and CDC, and is said to be at least 95 percent effective.
Arlington Place is operated by Jaybird Senior Living, and many of their communities throughout Iowa and four other states are receiving dates on a daily basis to host their vaccine clinics.
