Storm Lake vs. E-L-C Basketball Recap

Sam Slight scored 19 of his game high 23 points in the second half and grabbed ten rebounds leading the Storm Lake basketball team to a 53-45 win Tuesday night at Estherville.

The Tornadoes used a 12-0 run early in the 4th quarter to pull away to their second straight conference win and fifth victory of the season.

Mark Eddie added thirteen points and Sam Dvergsten chipped in with eleven.  Storm Lake, now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Lakes Conference will play host to Western Christian Friday night.

In the girls game, E-L-C's Jayden Nitchals and Kaitlyn Tendel combined to score 42 points in the first half as the Midgets beat Storm Lake 60-24.  Nitchals scored all 25 of her points in the first half, 18 of which came in the first quarter and Tendel finished with 22.  

Mary Yanga led Storm Lake with 12 points.  The two teams combined for zero points in the 4th quarter.
