
Hospital Officials Urge Iowans to Follow Recommendations ; New Single-Day COVID Death Record

170 state hospital leaders are urging Iowans to follow public health recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19.
A joint statement released by the Iowa Hospital Association’s physician leadership group and the Organization for Nursing Leadership asks Iowans to avoid crowds, stay home when sick and wear a mask.
As of today (Wed), more than 13-hundred Iowans are hospitalized with the virus, with nearly 270 in ICUs.
There have been over 33-hundred more COVID cases confirmed from 10am Tuesday to 10am today (Wed), to bring the Iowa total close to 219-thousand. That includes 41 new cases in Buena Vista County.
47 additional COVID-related deaths occurred during that time frame, which is the highest single-day death total for Iowa since the pandemic started. There have been over 23-hundred more recoveries.
